Mount Clara Smelter

Nestled along Rossmore Road near Kilkivan, Queensland, the Mount Clara Smelter stands as a testament to the region's rich mining heritage. Constructed in 1873, this copper smelter was among the earliest in Queensland, processing ore from the surrounding hills. Today, the site features the well-preserved chimney, constructed from local bluestone and mortar, and remnants of the smelter's structure.
