Established in 1924, the Motor Yacht Club of Tasmania (MYCT) is a cornerstone of Tasmania's maritime heritage. Located at the entrance to Lindisfarne Bay, the club offers sheltered anchorage and a range of boating facilities, including slipping, refuelling, and launching services. The clubhouse provides spectacular views over the River Derwent, making it a popular venue for both members and visitors. MYCT boasts a marina with over 140 berths, accommodating various types of vessels. The on-site Reflections Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with waterfront views. The club also features a bar and café, providing a relaxed atmosphere for socializing. A highlight of MYCT is the M.L. Egeria, a classic vessel built in 1941 from Huon Pine and Teak. This historic boat, which once served as a Naval Auxiliary launch during World War II, is now available for charters, offering lunch and dinner cruises on the River Derwent. The club hosts an active social calendar, including regular live music, Fast Food Nights, luncheons, and community events. Members and non-members are welcome to participate. In 2024, MYCT celebrated its 100th anniversary, marking a century of maritime tradition and community engagement.
