The Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre in Moree is a vital repository for Aboriginal history, housing over 110,000 genealogies, records of Aboriginal ex-servicemen, artefacts, art, and more than 15,000 photographs. This extensive collection serves as a significant resource for the Gamilaroi nation and the entire state of New South Wales. The centre offers a welcoming space for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal visitors to explore and learn about Aboriginal culture, particularly Gamilaroi heritage. Educational groups, tour groups, and school groups are welcome by appointment, with tailored cultural programs and more being delivered by the Centre. The Dhiiyaan Gallery showcases the works of local artists, artisans, and crafters, providing an accessible, largely self-generated program of exhibitions and events for the whole community. The Centre also offers a range of well-appointed spaces available for hire, making it the perfect venue for groups, meetings, and corporate functions, with spaces accommodating different community needs.
