The beach curves from north-east to north, sheltered by Point Cartwright's low rocks to the north and the Mooloolaba Harbour entrance wall to the east. A continuous foreshore reserve backs the beach, featuring the Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club, a beachfront caravan park, and ample parking. The area is accessible via a road behind the reserve, with facilities supporting boating activities on Mooloolaba Harbour. The beach's waves, averaging 0.5 to 1 meter near the surf lifesaving club, decrease to less than 0.5 meter by the harbour entrance, providing a safe environment for visitors.
