Moogerah Passion Play

Nestled beside Lake Moogerah in Queensland, the Moogerah Passion Play is an annual outdoor theatrical event that vividly portrays the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Since its inception in 1993, this non-denominational production has captivated audiences with its authentic storytelling and immersive setting. Each year, a dedicated cast and crew of up to 100 volunteers bring the narrative to life, drawing over 3,000 attendees. The play is performed outdoors, with the natural beauty of the lake and surrounding mountains enhancing the experience. The performances typically take place over four days during the Easter period, with gates opening at 4 p.m. and the play commencing at 5 p.m., concluding around 8 p.m. While admission is free, donations are encouraged to support the production. Visitors are advised to bring a chair or blanket for seating, as well as water and appropriate clothing for the weather. Food and beverages are available for purchase on-site, and picnic hampers are welcome.
