Monto Historical and Cultural Centre

The Monto Historical and Cultural Centre, situated at 20 Flinders Street, showcases a rich tapestry of Monto's heritage. Operated by the Monto and District Historical Society Inc., the centre features permanent displays of historical photographs, artefacts, and a gem collection. Exhibits include agricultural machinery, historic buildings, and a restored QR camp wagon (CW 34). Memorabilia honoring Monto's Olympic welterweight representative, Len (Rusty) Cook, and the Otswald mineral collection are also on display. The centre is open daily by appointment, offering visitors a comprehensive glimpse into the region's past.
