Mittyack is a small rural locality in Victoria's Mallee region, approximately 37 kilometers from Ouyen on the Calder Highway. Established in the 1910s, it was once a bustling wheat-growing area. The local post office operated from 1916 until 1979, and the Kulwin railway line reached Mittyack in 1919, extending to Kulwin the following year; however, the line was closed in 2010. The area is known for its solar energy initiatives, with over 152 homes in the 3533 postcode having solar panels installed, collectively generating approximately 1,056 kW of power.
