Mission River

Mission River is a coastal locality in Far North Queensland, Australia, situated within the Shire of Cook and the Aboriginal Shire of Napranum. The area encompasses approximately 5,600 square kilometers and is home to around 974 residents. Notable features include the Weipa Mission Bridge, a single-lane bridge serving mining operations and local communities, and Albatross Bay, which receives waters from the Mission River. The region is rich in Aboriginal heritage, with languages such as Linngithigh and Thaynakwith spoken by the local communities.
