Middle Ridge Fossicking Area, located west of Rubyvale, offers a 31.92-hectare site rich in sapphires and zircons. Accessible via Goanna Flats Road, the area provides shallow wash deposits ideal for fossicking. Camping is permitted for up to three months, with several shaded spots available; however, visitors must bring their own water as no local supply exists. The nearest public facility is in Sapphire. Fossickers can find sapphires near the surface or at slightly greater depths, with some areas requiring soaking due to clayey soil.
