Michell Hut Campground

Michell Hut, also known as Michell Refuge, is a semi-prefabricated shelter located along the Eskdale Spur Walking Track in Victoria's Alpine National Park. Constructed in 2005, it serves as a refuge for hikers and skiers traversing the challenging 24 km Eskdale Spur track. The hut features a wood-burning stove, providing warmth during cold conditions. While primarily intended for emergency shelter, the surrounding area offers sheltered camping spots among the trees. Access to Michell Hut is via the Eskdale Spur track, which is known for its steep and rugged terrain.
