Melaleuca camping area is nestled in the foredunes of Nine Mile Beach, offering easy access to the beach. Accessible by high-clearance 4WD vehicles or boat, it features four open camping areas: Myrtella (18 people), Melaleuca (18 people), Pandanus (12 people), and Casuarina (18 people). The campsite surface consists of grass and sand, with no facilities on-site; the nearest facilities are at Five Rocks camping area in Byfield Conservation Park. Campfires are permitted under strict conditions, and generators may be operated between 8 am and 7 pm, provided they have a sound rating of 65 decibels or less. Visitors can enjoy activities such as walking, scenic drives, snorkeling, diving, canoeing, kayaking, boating, swimming, and fishing. Mobile phone coverage is unreliable; consider taking a satellite phone.
