Nestled in the historic Red House, the Marion Heritage Research Centre serves as a hub for the area's rich history and cultural heritage. The centre houses a comprehensive local and family history reference library with over 600 items, including books, historical datasets, and a complete set of South Australian Births, Deaths, and Marriage Registrations. Its historic collection comprises documents, photographs, maps, and plans, with select objects on display. Visitors can enjoy a quiet reading room, access to computers for heritage research, and assistance from knowledgeable volunteers. The centre also operates an Oral History program, recording stories from the community. The Red House, built in 1922 by local market gardener Walter Phelps, was acquired by the council in 1989 and opened as the Marion Heritage Research Centre in 2013.
