Australia's first and only Maltese Museum, located in Morwell, showcases a rich collection of Maltese artefacts and miniature replicas of historical buildings. The museum's inception was inspired by Mario Sammut, a migrant who arrived in the Latrobe Valley in 1985, aiming to preserve Maltese culture and identity within the Australian community. Notable contributions include 15 miniature models of significant Maltese buildings donated by artist Charlie Camilleri and an extensive collection of memorabilia from the late Mr. Frank Consiglio, the first Consul General for Malta in Victoria. Visitors can explore traditional costumes, tools, and models of historical Maltese buildings. The museum is open on Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm or by appointment, with a gold coin donation appreciated for entry.
