Nestled in a serene bushland setting, the Mallacoota RSL Bunker Museum offers a captivating journey into Australia's World War II history. Originally constructed in 1942 as a Royal Australian Air Force Advanced Operations Base, this high-security installation played a pivotal role in coastal surveillance and intelligence gathering. Today, it houses a diverse collection of exhibits, including wartime artifacts, local history displays, and insights into the area's early settlements and industries. Managed by dedicated volunteers, the museum welcomes visitors every Tuesday morning from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, with additional openings during holiday periods. Admission is by donation, with a suggested contribution of $5 per adult and $2 for school-age children. Children under 6 enter free of charge. To reach the museum, follow Betka Road from the town center to the airport access road turn-off, approximately 4.5 km southwest of Mallacoota.
