Maggea is a small town in South Australia's Murray Mallee region, situated on the Stott Highway between Swan Reach and Loxton. Established in 1915, it was named after the local Aboriginal term for 'camp.' The town once thrived with a school operating from 1919 to 1967, but now has a population of approximately 12 residents. Maggea is located within the federal division of Barker, the state electoral district of Chaffey, and the local government area of the District Council of Loxton Waikerie.
