Macorna Wind Farm

Located approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Kerang in northern Victoria, the Macorna Wind Farm is a proposed renewable energy project aiming to harness the region's strong wind resources. Encompassing a 25,000-hectare site, the plan includes around 170 wind turbines with a combined generation capacity of approximately 1,200 MW, sufficient to power over 500,000 average Victorian households. The project's strategic location near the VNI West Kerang terminal station ensures an efficient and low-impact grid connection. The development is expected to bring significant economic activity to the Gannawarra and Loddon shires, offering employment and procurement opportunities for local residents and businesses. The project is currently in the early stages, with wind monitoring and environmental studies underway to inform the site's extent and preliminary layout.
