Macknade Mill, established in 1874, is the oldest operating sugar mill in Queensland. Located in Macknade, a town 12 km northeast of Ingham, the mill processes approximately 1.5 million tonnes of sugarcane annually, producing about 191,000 tonnes of raw sugar. The mill's historical significance is highlighted by its single-stack design, a rarity among modern mills. While the mill is not open to the public for tours, its enduring presence underscores the region's rich agricultural heritage.
