Located at 24 Milton Street, Mackay Showground is a vibrant venue that hosts a variety of events throughout the year. The annual Mackay Show, held in June, features showjumping, cattle displays, woodchopping, sideshow alley, and exhibits, along with food stalls and fireworks. The venue also hosts the largest weekly produce market in the region, offering fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and plants. With a capacity of around 10,000, including a 1,000-seat pavilion, the showground has previously hosted NRL pre-season games featuring the North Queensland Cowboys up until 2006.
