Housed in the 1891 Macarthur Court House, the Macarthur & District Historical Society Inc. showcases a diverse collection of artifacts and records from the 1800s to the present. Exhibits include local photographs, cemetery records, war grave photographs, family history records, parish maps, business ledgers, and sporting, church, and school records. A highlight is the reconstructed 1930s-1970s Gordon Lucas' Barber Shop, complete with memorabilia and rare advertising. The museum is open by appointment, with a suggested donation to the society.
