Macalister Range, QLD

Macalister Range is a coastal locality in Far North Queensland, Australia, situated within the Cairns Region. This area is characterized by its lush, undeveloped forests and mountainous terrain, with elevations ranging from sea level to 630 meters at Saddle Mountain. The locality is predominantly protected within the Macalister Range National Park and the Kuranda National Park, both part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. While public access is limited to protect vital cassowary habitats, visitors can enjoy scenic views from the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, which traverses the southern end of the range. The locality is bordered by the Coral Sea to the north, with nearby areas including Wangetti, Ellis Beach, and Clifton Beach. Macalister Range is approximately 9.2 kilometers southeast of Kuranda and 19.4 kilometers northwest of Cairns CBD.
