Lowbank is a tranquil locality in South Australia's Riverland region, nestled between the Sturt Highway and the south bank of the Murray River, east of Waikerie. The area features gently sloping terrain, with vineyards flourishing on the elevated grounds and natural scrub covering the slopes. Historically, Lowbank has been a hub for river transport, with several historic landing sites along the river. The community is anchored by St Paul's Lutheran Church, established in 1913, and the former Lowbank Primary School, which opened in 1915 and has since closed. Despite its proximity to the sea, the river's water level is often maintained at 6.1 meters above sea level by Lock 2.
