
Low Isles Light, constructed in 1878, is an active lighthouse situated on Low Island, approximately 13 kilometers northeast of Port Douglas, Queensland. This historic lighthouse, the first in Far North Queensland, features a 60-foot conical tower with a red lantern dome. It marks the entrance to the main shipping channel into Port Douglas harbor. The lighthouse is automated and solar-powered, with a light characteristic of a white flash every ten seconds, visible for 17 nautical miles. The island is accessible by boat, offering visitors opportunities to explore its natural beauty and rich history.
