Established in 1892, the Longreach Town Band is a vibrant brass ensemble that enriches the Longreach community with its musical performances. The band rehearses every Monday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Longreach State School Band Room on Ibis Street. Under the direction of Musical Director Tanya Lloyd, the ensemble maintains a strong mixed wind section, performing at various community events and fostering connections with local schools, governments, and institutions. The band is dedicated to recruiting and teaching adult learners, contributing to the cultural fabric of the region.
