Long Plains is a rural locality situated approximately 73 km north of Adelaide, South Australia. Established in 1997, it spans about 47.5 square kilometers and is divided between the Wakefield Regional Council and the Adelaide Plains Council. The area is characterized by its agricultural landscape, with a population of around 79 residents. Historically, Long Plains was a terminus on the Adelaide-Port Augusta railway line from 1917 to 1923. The Long Plains Memorial Hall, built in 1923, commemorates local residents who died in World War I. The United Football Club, based in Long Plains, also hosts netball and other sporting clubs.
