Lonesome Creek

Lonesome Creek is a rural locality in Queensland's Shire of Banana, Australia. It is situated approximately 4.7 kilometers north-northeast of Theodore, 51.9 kilometers south of Moura, and 101 kilometers southwest of Biloela. The area encompasses 241.4 square kilometers and had a population of 173 people as of the 2021 census. The Leichhardt Highway traverses the locality, and the Dawson River forms part of its southwestern boundary. The land is primarily used for crop cultivation and grazing on native vegetation and pastures. Theodore State School, offering education up to Year 10, is located in the neighboring town of Theodore. Theodore Airport, situated within Lonesome Creek, serves as a hub for medical emergency flights. The community also maintains two cemeteries: Theodore Pioneer Cemetery and Theodore Cemetery.
