Little Pine Lagoon, situated approximately 10 km west of Miena along the B11 highway, is renowned as one of Australia's premier fly-fishing destinations. This shallow, weedy lagoon boasts a self-sustaining population of wild brown trout, with most fish weighing between 0.5 and 1.5 kg. The lagoon is managed exclusively for fly fishing, with a bag limit of five fish, including a maximum of two over 500 mm, and a minimum size requirement of 300/500 mm. Anglers can fish from both shore and boat, with popular spots including the Road Shore, Untouchables Shore, and Tailers Shore. The area also offers camping facilities, though visitors should be self-sufficient, as no facilities are provided. Access is via the Marlborough Highway, with boat ramps available on the southern shore. Please note that camping fees are payable at the self-registration station, and a valid fishing license is required.
