Nestled on the north-west corner of the Tasman Peninsula, Lime Bay State Reserve offers a tranquil retreat with sheltered beaches, eucalypt woodlands, and a rich convict history. The campground features shady, unnumbered sites suitable for tents, caravans, and campervans, complemented by four pump-flush toilets and camp fireplaces. Due to common summer fire restrictions, fuel stoves are recommended for cooking. Camping operates on a self-registration basis without permanent staff; fees are payable via an honesty box system. The maximum stay is 28 days. Generators are permitted but must be turned off by 10 pm, along with all other noise. The reserve is also home to the World Heritage-listed Coal Mines Historic Site, offering a glimpse into Tasmania's convict past. Access is via unsealed roads; please drive cautiously and be aware of native wildlife.
