Nestled along the upper Lane Cove River, adjacent to Longueville Wharf, the Lane Cove 12ft Sailing Skiff Club is a vibrant, family-focused, not-for-profit organization. Established in 1918, it boasts over 200 members and offers sailing opportunities for all ages, including Learn to Sail courses that graduate over 100 new sailors annually. The club features five boat classes—Sabots, Flying 11s, Cherubs, Lasers, and 12ft Skiffs—with racing held on Saturday afternoons from September to April. Beyond competitive sailing, the club fosters a strong social community, hosting class dinners, social nights, and an end-of-year Presentation Night Dinner. Operating entirely on volunteer support, the club is an accredited Australian Sailing Discovery Centre, introducing newcomers to the joys of sailing. New members are always welcome; simply visit the club any Saturday afternoon during the summer season.
