Lake Nillahcootie, situated 36 kilometers south of Benalla in Victoria's High Country, is a picturesque reservoir formed by the Nillahcootie Dam on the Broken River. Completed in 1967, the dam's unique Gothic arch-shaped spillway adds to the lake's charm. The area offers a range of recreational activities, including fishing for species like Murray cod and golden perch, boating, water skiing, and swimming. Visitors can enjoy picnic facilities, a large grassed area, and a boat ramp. Access to the lake's foreshore is restricted, and camping is not permitted around the lake. Picnic and boating areas are open to the public from 8:00 am to sunset daily.
