Lake Harris Dam, situated in the Lake Gairdner National Park, is a significant salt lake in South Australia, approximately 530 km northwest of Adelaide. The lake spans about 50 kilometers in length and 16 kilometers in width, encompassing numerous islands formed from Quaternary deposits. Its bed consists of gypsiferous muds, clays, and silts, topped with a salt crust ranging from 30 to 75 millimeters thick. The lake's surface is predominantly covered with a salt crust, though some areas lack this feature.
