Lake Gilles Conservation Park, located on the Eyre Peninsula near Kimba, South Australia, features a saline lake surrounded by low sandy rises, gypsum dunes, and isolated stony hills. This semi-arid mallee landscape offers a peaceful environment for birdwatching, with species such as the Malleefowl, Slender-billed Thornbill, and Thick-billed Grasswren inhabiting the area. The Eyre Highway traverses the park, providing 2WD access to the lake; however, the northern area adjacent to Lake Gilles is accessible only by 4WD. Self-sufficient bush camping is permitted within the park.
