Lake Gairdner

Lake Gairdner, located approximately 440 kilometers northwest of Adelaide, is Australia's third-largest salt lake, spanning 160 kilometers in length and 48 kilometers in width. Surrounded by the red foothills of the Gawler Ranges, the lake's glistening white salt surface creates a striking contrast against the arid landscape. The area is rich in cultural significance for the Adnyamathanha people, who consider it a sacred site. The lake is also renowned for hosting the annual Dry Lake Racers event, attracting land-speed record enthusiasts from across Australia.
