Lake Broadwater Conservation Park, situated 30 km southwest of Dalby, Queensland, is a serene retreat encompassing the Darling Downs' only natural lake. Surrounded by cypress pine, eucalypt, and brigalow open woodlands, the park offers a peaceful setting for picnics under river red gums. The shallow lake, covering approximately 350 hectares, serves as a vital habitat for over 230 bird species, including migratory waterbirds. Visitors can enjoy activities such as camping, birdwatching, and walking along the two-kilometer track connecting the two camping areas. The park also features an elevated bird hide for observing nesting waterbirds. Camping facilities include Lake Broadwater and Wilga Bush Campgrounds, both equipped with amenities like toilets, barbecues, picnic tables, and tap water (which should be boiled or treated before drinking). Lake Broadwater Hall, located within the park, is available for hire and is suitable for meetings, work functions, and events. Please note that domestic animals are not permitted in the park to protect native wildlife.
