Lake Alexandrina

Lake Alexandrina, situated approximately 100 km southeast of Adelaide, is a vast freshwater lake in South Australia. It serves as the terminus of the Murray River, receiving inflows from the Bremer, Angas, and Finniss Rivers. The lake is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including a variety of waterbirds and the critically endangered orange-bellied parrots. The surrounding wetlands are home to unique species like the southern pygmy perch. Visitors can enjoy activities such as boating, fishing, and wildlife observation, with the area also recognized as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention.
