The area is renowned for its excellent surf fishing, particularly for Australian Salmon. Basic facilities include drop toilets; visitors should bring their own water and firewood. Pets are welcome on leads, and camping is free with a maximum stay of four weeks. Access is via unsealed roads off the Tasman Highway, approximately 2 km north of the A3 and A4 junctions.
