Koorawatha Falls, situated approximately 20 minutes from Cowra, is a captivating natural attraction within the Koorawatha Nature Reserve. The reserve also features the historic Koorawatha Weir, constructed in 1913 across Bang Bang Creek to supply water to the railway. The name 'Koorawatha' originates from a Wiradjuri word meaning 'a place of pine trees'. Accessing the falls requires a 4WD vehicle due to an uneven dirt track; the journey culminates in a 700-meter walk to the falls, which are most impressive after rainfall. Visitors can enjoy picnicking by the water's edge or utilize the BBQ and picnic facilities available near the 4WD area.
