
Koonibba, a historic Aboriginal community in South Australia's Eyre Peninsula, is approximately 586 km northwest of Adelaide and 38 km northwest of Ceduna. Established in 1901 as a Lutheran mission, it is home to the heritage-listed Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Koonibba Football Club, founded in 1906, is Australia's oldest surviving Aboriginal football club. In 2019, the Koonibba Test Range was established, becoming Australia's first licensed space launch facility. The community also features the Koonibba Aboriginal School and a general store, enhancing local amenities.
