Kingston, VIC

The Kingston Avenue of Honour, established in August 1918, comprises 286 Dutch Elm trees planted by the local community to honor the World War I service of men and women from the former Shire of Creswick. Stretching approximately 2.9 kilometers along Kingston Road, the avenue begins at Victoria Road and extends southward toward the Midland Highway. Each tree is marked with an enamel name plaque, commemorating the individuals who served. A Harcourt granite obelisk, unveiled in 1927, stands at the avenue's northern entrance, marking its significance. The avenue was heritage-listed in 2015, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
