Built in 1927 and opened in 1929, the heritage-listed Kaniva Shire Hall is one of only two public buildings in Victoria featuring a cameo ceiling. The upstairs area houses the former council chambers, while the downstairs offices are now utilized by the local genealogy group. Historically, the hall has served as a cinema and roller skating rink. It is now a vibrant community hub, hosting a variety of events and available for private hire. Recent restorations have enhanced accessibility with ramps and doors.
