The Kaniva Historical Museum, located at 111 Commercial Street East, showcases the rich farming heritage of Kaniva. Housed in a recently restored building, the museum features a schoolroom, machinery shed, and old medical equipment. A notable exhibit is the horse trough donated by Annis and George Bills, who contributed approximately 70,000 such troughs across Australia during the Depression. This particular trough includes a small section for dogs. The museum is open by appointment, with entry by donation.
