Junction Dam

Junction Dam, located in the Mount Willoughby region of South Australia, is a notable water reservoir situated approximately 837 kilometers northwest of Adelaide. The area is characterized by diverse habitats, including swamps, grasslands, clay pans, breakaway ranges, and red dune country. The Adelaide-Darwin railway and the Stuart Highway traverse the locality from south to north, while the Woomera Prohibited Area occupies part of the southwest corner. The principal land uses within the locality are primary production and conservation, with cattle grazing in the northern end and the Mount Willoughby Indigenous Protected Area in the remainder.
