Jindabyne Dam, completed in 1967, is a significant rockfill embankment dam situated approximately 2 kilometers southeast of the relocated town of Jindabyne, New South Wales. It serves as a crucial component of the Snowy Mountains Scheme, redirecting water from the Snowy River to the Murray River for hydroelectric power generation and irrigation. The dam stands 72 meters high and 335 meters long, impounding Lake Jindabyne, which spans 3,033.5 hectares. Visitors can enjoy picturesque mountain views, trout fishing, and sailing on the reservoir. While there's no dedicated parking area, parking is available nearby, allowing access to the impressive spillway and surrounding walking paths.
