Whyalla, SA

Located at 5 Darling Terrace, Jessop-White Park is a charming green space in Whyalla, South Australia. The park features accessible toilets, a sheltered BBQ area, and ample parking suitable for motorhomes and caravans. It is named after Kay Jessop, a Girl Guide leader, and Doug White, a Whyalla Citizen Band leader. The park houses two restored historic buildings: the Girl Guide Hall and the Whyalla Band Hall. A paved pathway lined with plane trees connects the Girl Guide Hall to the historic BHP pay office. Additionally, the park showcases one of the first water catchment tanks used in the early days of Whyalla's settlement. Developed collaboratively by Whyalla Council and OneSteel, the park was officially opened on July 4, 2010.
