Located approximately 80 kilometers west of Windorah, the JC Hotel Ruins offer a glimpse into Queensland's pioneering past. Established in the early 1880s, the hotel served as a vital stopover for travelers and explorers. The name "JC" originates from John Costello, who carved his initials into a tree in the area during his explorations in the 1860s. After the hotel's roof was removed in 1956, the structure deteriorated, leaving behind earthen mounds and remnants of the original building. Visitors can explore the ruins and a nearby small cemetery, reflecting on the area's rich history.
