Jacksons Creek, known as 'biik wurrdha' in Woi-wurrung language, winds through Sunbury, offering a picturesque setting for outdoor enthusiasts. The Jacksons Creek biik wurrdha Regional Parklands encompass over 1,000 hectares, connecting 26 kilometers of creek line from Sunbury to Diggers Rest. This expansive area features diverse landscapes, including deep gullies, steep slopes, and high plains, providing habitats for a variety of wildlife such as kangaroos, echidnas, and platypus. The parklands also hold cultural significance, with sites like the Sunbury Earth Rings, ancient Aboriginal ceremonial sites, and the Holden Flora Reserve, which preserves native grasslands and supports endangered species.
