Italowie Campground

Italowie Gap Campground, nestled within the Vulkathunha-Gammon Ranges National Park, offers two distinct camping areas accessible via the Copley-Balcanoona road, approximately 20 minutes from Balcanoona. The southwestern site, shaded by river red gums beneath a small cliff face, provides a cool retreat during summer. The northeastern site, adjacent to the information bay and near the start of the Italowie Gorge Hike, is surrounded by wattles and river red gums. Both areas accommodate tents, camper trailers, and small caravans, with drop toilets available. Campfires are permitted, subject to seasonal fire restrictions. Unallocated camping is allowed, with a maximum of six vehicles per site. Electricity is unavailable, and visitors are encouraged to take all rubbish with them upon departure.
