Hughenden Showgrounds serves as the central hub for sports, recreation, and public events in Hughenden and the surrounding Shire. The facility features a grassed arena with lighting, pavilions, halls, kitchens, bars, office spaces, extensive cattle yards, a clubhouse, storage areas, a covered indoor arena, and multiple show and toilet blocks. Permanent users include the Hughenden Show Society, Rugby League, Pony Club, Gymnastics, Campdraft, and performance horse sports. The grounds also offer a free fossicking site for visitors to search for dinosaur fossils.
