Established in the early 1970s, it serves as a permanent settlement for the Ngangikurrunggurr people. The community is renowned for its rich artistic heritage, particularly through Durrmu Arts, which showcases contemporary acrylic paintings and fiber weavings. The main language spoken is Tyemirri, a dialect of Ngan’gityemerri, with English also widely used. Peppimenarti offers a unique cultural experience, blending traditional Aboriginal practices with contemporary art forms.
