HMAS Cerberus, located near Crib Point on Western Port Bay, serves as the Royal Australian Navy's primary training establishment. Spanning 1,517 hectares, it accommodates approximately 800 trainees at any given time, with around 6,000 personnel trained annually. The base features numerous training and recreational facilities, including two chapels, a small marina, and well-maintained grounds. Established in 1921, HMAS Cerberus has been instrumental in preparing Navy, Army, and Air Force personnel for service, offering specialized training in areas such as firefighting, damage control, and nuclear biological chemical defense.
