Nestled at the base of the Bunya Mountains, Wengenville was once a bustling timber town from the 1920s to 1961. Centered around a sawmill, the community boasted a hall, school, shops, and a main street of houses. Today, remnants of this history include a cattle paddock, a private residence, and commemorative signs erected by the South Burnett Regional Council in 2013. The Bunya Mountains Natural History Association has preserved the town's legacy through a 120-page book, capturing the memories of this once-thriving community.
